How To Help
The more people you talk to about my quest, the better. It helps if you can express simply what I do for a living. The best thing to tell them is that I am a Communicator and Web Strategist. One time, after I showed him the marketing plan I had drawn up for my employer, the owner of the advertising company we were using told me he thought I was the most creative person he had ever met. True story.

Hardy Har Har
At one point during a game, the coach said to one of his young players, "Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?" The little boy nodded in the affirmative. "Do you understand that what matters is whether we win together as a team?" The little boy nodded yes. "So," the coach continued, "when a strike is called, or you're out at first, you don't argue or curse or attack the umpire. Do you understand all that?" Again the little boy nodded. "Good," said the coach, "now go over there and explain it to your mother."
Dear Friends and Colleagues,I'm cooked. It's been a thousand degrees for weeks, maybe years. Maybe forever. Now I know why I really want a job. To heck with the salary, just give me air conditioning. Beautiful, industrial-strength air conditioning. I want to need a sweater indoors. Anyway, I need to start getting out more. I need networking opportunities. I know a couple of networking groups that I've heard of and I'm going to sign up. If you know of any groups, clubs or any place else that I can go, listen to a presentation, participate in a forum, whatever. Obviously, it would be cool if there were a lot of people that that are interested in the web or communication strategy but at this stage, I just need to stop focusing on Monster.com and my computer. As always, please take a look at the companies I'm applying to and think if you know anyone there or that might be able to network me in. Thanks for your help! Sincerely, tqii

Current Happenings
Finally got through to Orbitz a couple of ways. The person I have been trying to work with for the last couple of weeks agreed to submit my application through the in-house application process. He also agreed to try to locate someone I could talk to in the target department. I also spoke to a VP in an Orbitz sister company. He was very nice and referred me to an HR person. (I sent her a letter this morning.) The more I look at Orbitz, the more I would like to work there. It's seems to be a cool place. They guy that is putting me into the in-house system says he really likes it. I had the first interview with Type A. The lady was very nice. You can't ever tell about an interview unless something horrible happens. I'm confident that is not the case so, keep your fingers crossed.
