How To Help
Did you know that I am one of the key people in the creation of the technology of digital imaging? I was the project leader making one of the world's very first workstations that could show a picture on a computer screen and change it. Tell someone about that and make sure to mention that the person who did it could be solving problems for him or her today.

Hardy Har Har
A man walked into a bar, leading an alligator by a leash. He asked the bartender, "Do you serve lawyers here?" "Sure do," said the bartender. "Good," replied the man. "Give me a beer, and I'll have a lawyer for my 'gator."
Dear Friends and Colleagues,We're hitting the summer doldrums. It's hot, sunny, nice out. Actually not a bad time to be unemployed. Still, I really need some action. Last week was a short, quiet one. Today's new mantram is "Sales Engineer". That's what I did at Scitex. That's another name for the job I described last week, though usually at more technically-oriented companies. As you think about contacts, people that know someone that needs a sales engineer are good to talk to. As you can see, I've applied to another couple of big companies. If you know anyone at Apartments.com (who knew it was a Chicago company?) or Citrix (not a Chicago company but with a substantial sales office here), let me know and let them know. As always, if you know someone that is starting a company, investing in a company, got transfered to a new department, or got a new job, they probably need some smart, versatile help. Make the connection. We'll both benefit. Thanks for your help! Sincerely, tqii

Current Happenings
Many of you know that I do some volunteer work. On the Fourth, my pal took a bunch of pictures and I turned them into a web display. It's not a job, but it is an example of what I do - and it's fun to see. Check out OakParkDems.org. I had another freelance job. This was a one-shot but it was great. I installed window treatments for a day. Made some cash, got out of the house. Was excellent. Got the Citrix lead from one of you. It was an excellent one. The principle that lead to it was thinking about companies with admirable technology and job postings on their website. Very cool. What companies do you admire? Remember that I am very interested in non-technical companies. No news from Orbitz. I really want to work there. If you have a friend there, please introduce me. Type A is pending. So is Walgreens (based on the first job).
